Yes, i live right next to this warzone, and robots mating is exactly what i think of. Though the robot lovers have taken apart most of their nuptual bed, and i have an awesome view of the water now, i cant help but wonder what will take the place of this con ed facility. If its another high rise i will shit myself and go frantz fanon on their asses. Also the prospect of another year of constant construction and the noise that cones with it fills me with dread

That demo on River St has been waking me up every morning. It sounds like robots mating. Not that I’m complaining, mind you. I can’t wait for those horrid tanks to be gone.

No one lives there yet. We live down the block, and the residential portions of all parts of this development are (inexplicably) not complete. They keep starting and stopping development, and they’ve thus far only completed 2 commercial spaces, though they will complete a new gym within a few months on Berry.

It is my understanding that OSA claims the majority of ticket buyers for their concerts hail from 11211 and 11222 zip codes. I’ll leave 11211 to your discretion (as that is your area of expertise), but the guys in these videos ain’t Greenpointers.

Otherwise I agree; it IS an inexcusable mess. But it certainly lays to rest the “oldsters versus newbies” angle a lot of web sites/media outlets are trying to play regarding these concerts. Officer Adamo told me most of the men he caught huffing Nitrous Oxide afterward were 40 years old or older.

Yeesh.

North 6th and Driggs is green, so lowest level of danger (but not completely out of danger). It would have to be a really, really catastrophic hit, but you could see flooding.

NYC.gov has a ton of information – I suggest that anyone go there, read up, and as the Mayor says, be prepared for the worst (but hope for the best!).

FWIW, I live in green too.

So if I live at N 6th and Driggs, what can I expect? I’ve looked through the sites and maps but I’m still not sure how to gauge this.. will my apartment be impacted and to what degree?
